GUIDED CLIMBING TOURS IN THE „PALE DI SAN MARTINO“ - DOLOMITES
Guided climbing tours and via ferratas in the Pala Group
Grippy rock in a lonely and wild setting
When talking aboutAlpine climbing in the Pale group most people think about the Spigolo del Velo. But there is much more! The Pale di San Martino are characterised by beautiful and grippy rock but also a remote and lonely ambience. Discover this wild corner of the Dolomites with your mountain guide.
Most of the tours here are long and have a certain adventurous character. An overnight stay in a hut is necessary for most tours. It is therefore a good idea to combine several tours with a longer stay in a hut. I will be happy to make you a special offer on request for Several climbing days with overnight stay in a hut in the region !
With the Rosetta cable car, some great tours are also possible as day tours from San Martino di Castrozza, weather permitting.
Spigolo del Velo on the Cima della Madonna
The "Spigolo del Velo" is probably THE climbing tour in the Palagroup. Continous in the fourth grade, this constantly exposed tour is some of the finest the Pala group has to offer.

Nuvolo south ridge
The Nuvolo South-Ridge is a little-known climbing tour in the Pala Group. It's hard to believe: the ascent from the Rosetta cable car takes only one hour. The rock is as good as you could wish for and the setting is secluded and remote. A real gem away from the crowds.
The climbing is mostly fifth grade. Quite sustained in the fifth degree over 400 metres of climbing. The ascent and descent are relatively short and easy by Pala standards. Nevertheless, it's a decent tour that can be climbed on the first pitch at San Martino in good weather.

Mulaz Pilastro Grigio
If you didn't know better, you'd think you were climbing on the south face of the Marmolada. The finest limestone and paladolomite on a thoroughly challenging climbing tour
The climbing tours on the Mulaz always involve a long ascent and descent. In the first four pitches, the rock resembles the limestone of the south face of the Marmolada: the climbing here is in the sixth grade. The second part of the tour is much easier and has a better grip, but is no less beautiful.

Sas d Ortiga -Wiessner Ridge
A great classic on a remote mountain.
The approach to the Wiessner ridge seems to take forever, but is worth it for the wonderfully exposed climbing on super rock. Runnels in the rock are nothing special here! A real adventure with a mountain guide in the Pala group. Overnight stay in Rifugio Treviso recommendable.

„Gran Pilastro“ at the Pala di San Martino
The „Gran Pilastro“ or Great Pillar on the Pala di San Martino is one of the great tours of the Pala Group. Climbing 800 metres to the summit is only part of the tour: the descent is at least as exciting. An adventure tour for classic alpinists.
Access is from the Rosetta hut or from the Pradidali hut. In very stable weather, the tour can also be climbed with the first Rosetta cable car and you can spend the night in the new and beautifully situated bivouac at the summit. The difficulty is mostly in the third and fourth grade, but it is necessary to move quickly in easy terrain to master the long tour in one day.

Solleder - Sas Maor
Solleder's routes in the Dolomites have one thing in common: they are impressive! The Solleder on the Sas Maor is a tour for collectors of forgotten classics. There is at least as much traversing as climbing here: Nothing for faint-hearted.
The starting point for the Solleder route on the Sas Maor is the Rifugio della Madonna. The Schleierkante is also climbed from here. The two tours can therefore be combined, although the Schleierkante is much more relaxed. Otherwise, the Messner route is also a steeper alternative.
