Guided climbing tours - Dolomites - Sella Towers

Climbing on the Sella for beginners and advanced climbers

The Sella Pass, the Sella Towers, in the heart of the Dolomites are probably among the most famous climbing destinations in the Dolomites. As a mountain guide, I will accompany you to their summits along the appropriate route.

Short approaches, routes of all levels of difficulty: the Sella Towers are truly a paradise for alpine climbing in the Dolomites.

Here we find something for everyone. The Chimney Route on the First Sella Tower, a relatively short climb, mostly in the third grade, is the ideal route for beginners or as a first alpine climb.

More challenging tours can be found on the north side of the Sella Towers: the Messner Route on the second Sella Tower is a true Dolomites classics. Steep and good climbing along exposed slabs awaits us here.

For those who still haven't had enough at the first summit, there are another four pitches to the summit of the second Sella Tower.

Second Sella Tower north face - Messner Route

Climbing Sella Mountain GuideThe Messner route is probably one of the most famous climbs in the Dolomites of this difficulty. This route was climbed by the Messner brothers back in 1968. It is considered a visionary climb for the time because it does not follow logical rock structures but leads directly upwards over steep, at first glance unstructured slabs. Today, the tour offers fantastic, steep climbing in quite solid dolomite rock.

Difficulty V+/VI- (UIAA)
Pitch lengths: 6 (approx. 200m)
Price (1 P/ 2 P) 550 € / 280 €

First Sella Tower: Alpine climbing in the sun ( Schober)

Climbing Sella Mountain Guide DolomitesThe south face of the first Sella Tower has quite a few great climbs to offer. The most beautiful of these are probably still the classic routes such as the Schober Route or the somewhat easier Trenker Dehidral. Classic climbing in dehidrals and cracks on the best dolomite. Due to the exposure, it is often possible to climb here early in the season or in late autumn.

Difficulty V-VI (UIAA)
Pitch lengths: 6 (approx. 150m)
Price (1 P/ 2 P) 480 € / 260 €
