„... I wanted to reach these rock formations, not because of their height, but because of the boldness of their construction.“
Paul Grohmann
Climb the great peaks of the Dolomites with a mountain guide.
Guiding along the normal routes, the easiest routes which lead to a summit, historically represents the classic work of the mountain guide. Alongside climbing courses, steep climbs or via ferratas, reaching a summit via the easiest route is still one of the most elegant forms of mountaineering: especially in the Dolomites.
Guided climbs to the peaks of the Dolomites
The normal route to a summit is the easiest way to get from the valley to the top.
Most of the normal routes in the Dolomites are characterised by technically easy, but often exposed terrain.
The great challenge of these climbs is usually finding the route and moving efficently on moderate but exposed terrain.
Belaying is mainly done on short rope, which is why a maximum of 2 people are guided on most normal routes.
Requirements for mastering challenging normal routes such as the Sassolungo or the Cima Grande di Lavaredo:
- Good physical shape
-Expierence and good skills with exposed hiking
- Skills to climb on third grade (III UIAA)
UNKNOWN PEAKS OF THE DOLOMITES
The Dolomites are not just the Three Peaks ( Tre Cime) and Marmolada: there are far more peaks here than you might think.
If you would like to climb lesser-known mountains in the Dolomites, just write to me and we will certainly find a suitable tour that fits your skills perfectly.
Great summits are for example:
The Hohe Geisl, Rosengartenspitze, Antelao, the Gran Vernel, Sas Maor and many, many more
