Thomas Gianola IVBV -Mountain guide in South Tyrol and the Dolomites since 2019

Born in Bolzano in 1995, I was already skiing on the slopes every weekend as a small child and hiking in the mountains in summer.

However, I discovered my true passion for the mountains as a teenager (12) in the form of sport climbing and, at the same time, easy alpine climbs. By the age of 16-18, I was able to repeat some great classics in the Dolomites and the Alps.

My career path was clear and in 2017, at the age of 22, I completed my training as a mountain guide aspirant in South Tyrol.

As an alpinist I like all disciplines, with a preference for summer and rock.

In addition to my passion for mountaineering, my curiosity has taken me to different corners of the world: from the warm deserts of Jordan or Oman to Patagonia and Peru via lesser-known destinations such as Mexico, Chile or Morocco: wherever there are mountains, I am drawn. Mountaineering is often just an excuse to get to know different cultures and countries.

Travelling to many of the most beautiful mountains in the world has also made me realise how beautiful it is here in the Dolomites. The Dolomites are now my favourite mountain range for mountaineering in summer. During my trips around the world and while guiding my clients in the mountains I have refined my english allowing me to be perfectly fluent. This allows a better comunication with you as a client and a better guidance overall
